Week 5 Questions

All the authors for this week talk about the way we use photography (and the way photography is used).  They discuss the historical context of photography and photographs (in some cases referring to the same famous photographers).  They discuss the relationship between the photographed subject, the photographer, and the viewer.

So according to Berger, Barthes, and Kotchemidova, how do we use photography (historically and presently)?
What is the relationship between subject in the photo and the photo itself?
What is the relationship between the subject in the photo and the person taking the photo?
What do we see when we look at photographs?
How do we use photography?  And how does this use reflect what the photograph becomes?
