Executive Vice President & Provost On-Campus interviews scheduled
October 24, 2008
The Executive Vice-President & Provost Search Committee is pleased to announce that a slate of four (4) candidates will be coming to campus to interview for the position. This search has moved quickly, with the deadline for applications closing September 30, off-campus interviews happening October 20-21, and contact with candidates completed on October 24.
Given how quickly the review process has moved, the candidates still need some time to get their affairs in order at their home institutions before their candidacy is publicly announced. For this reason, we are asking the community to be patient in regards to the release of each candidate’s name and information.
However, we also want to make sure that the campus can plan for the visits. Thus, we are announcing the time and topic for the Public Forums, which we encourage the entire campus community to attend, and in which each candidate will participate.
Topic: "What are the key opportunities and challenges in public higher education, and how would you as a candidate work with the university community to address them?"
Each forum will take place from 3:00-4:15pm. Candidates have been asked to speak for 30-45 minutes, leaving 30-45 minutes for questions.
Forums will take place on the following dates and times:
November 3 (Monday): 3:00-4:15pm
November 6 (Thursday): 3:00-4:15pm
November 13 (Thursday): 3:00-4:15pm
November 17 (Monday): 3:00-4:15pm
Executive Vice President & Provost On-Campus interviews tentatively scheduled
August 22, 2008
As the UNI community returns to campus, the Executive Vice President and Provost Search Committee wanted to provide an update on the search. The search committee and search firm have worked diligently over the summer, preparing for the search and recruiting prospective candidates. The tentative schedule plans for on-campus interviews to happen from Nov. 3-14. Each candidate will participate in a 75-minute open forum, during which she or he will do a 30-40 minute presentation, with the remainder of the time devoted to answering questions from the UNI community. The committee hopes to maximize campus participation in the interview process, and so wanted to inform you well in advance of the weeks during which the candidates will be on campus. If you have any further questions, please contact the search committee chair, Catherine H. Palczewski (palczewski@uni.edu).
