UNI-CUE’s Mission
UNI-CUE’s mission is to provide a positive environment for lifetime learning where individuals may pursue and continue their educational goals and prepare for careers. In addition, UNI-CUE conducts empirical research in urban problems and fosters communication, cooperation and coordination with educational and human service agencies.
UNI-CUE fully embraces the concept of continuing and part-time education. Evening degree classes for college credit are offered from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Courses continue to be expanded and offered during a time convenient for most nontraditional students.
Educational opportunity for minority and non-traditional students is a high priority. UNI-CUE continues its longstanding tradition of recruiting, motivating, and encouraging students to pursue their career goals and aspirations.
UNI-CUE staff collaborates with other University departments and community programs to match its resources with community needs. In doing so, the UNI-CUE facility supports four TRiO programs: the Educational Opportunity Center; the Educational Talent Search Program; the Classic Upward Bound Program; and the Upward Bound Math & Science Program.
