Summary of Admission Requirements
2. Official transcript showing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. (Official transcripts are also needed from any other college or university attended after earning the bachelor's degree.)
3. A grade point average of 3.0 or higher for one’s undergraduate coursework and for prior graduate work.
4. Two letters of reference from former instructors, work supervisors, or others who can comment on academic and/or work performance and readiness for graduate work.
5. A Statement of Purpose, two or three pages, describing previous academic and other experience, reasons for undertaking graduate study, and professional or other goals pursued.
6. A Writing Sample (a seminar paper for the Literature or TESS emphasis; 20 poems and/or 30 pages of fiction for the creative writing emphasis).
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is not required.
