Dr. Ardith M. Meier

A.J. Meier (Ph.D. University of Vienna, Austria) Teaches theoretical and applied linguistics in the M.A. TESOL Program. Research interests include pragmatics (politeness theory, apologies), sociolinguistics, lexicography and usage, and intercultural communication. Articles have appeared (or will appear) in Journal of Pragmatics, Multilingua, Language Sciences, English Language Teaching Journal, International Journal of Applied Linguistics, American Speech, Modern Language Journal, and Dictionaries.
