Dr. Lamberti grew up on a Century Farm near Des Moines, Iowa, where she helped with the corn, soybean and alfalfa crops and a herd of Milking Shorthorn dairy cattle, and exhibited projects as a 4-H'er at county and state fairs.
She holds a Master's in creative writing and a Ph.D. in rhetoric and professional communication, both from Iowa State University, where she taught technical writing, rhetorical analysis, business communication, and first-year composition. She also has worked as a communications specialist and Web site designer for public organizations such as the Iowa Department of Transportation, and for private industries such as Thomson Publishing.
Dr. Lamberti now is an Assistant Professor of English Language and Literature at the University of Northern Iowa, where she coordinates and teaches in the Professional Writing Program, and coordinates the departmental Cooperative Education Program. Her research interests, largely inspired by issues raised in professional writing classes, include organizational cultures, professional communication ethics (both in practice and in pedagogy), and technology-mediated communication genres.

Among Professor Lamberti's publications is Talking the Talk: Revolution in Agricultural Communication (Nova Science Publishers). This book is the result of a study of an Iowa State Extension program, the Beginning Farmer Center, and the publications the Center produced over a two-year span. Talking the Talk fuses ethnographic research in professional communication with narratives by members of agrarian communities throughout Iowa.
