Call it what you will: flash fiction, microfiction,
smokelongs (stories that you can read in the time it takes to smoke
a cigarette). Each story in these thematically grouped collections
is under 750 words. So, take a break and read. You deserve it.
These projects are the work of students in the University of Northern Iowa's Spring 2004 Beginning Fiction Writing class.
