Joe Tripp-Rieks has been named to Director of Facilities for the Department of Residence at University of Northern Iowa. The Department of Residence manages residence communities and dining for more than 4200 students who are living in eight residence halls and three apartment communities.

Once again, the Department of Residence customer satisfaction assessment confirms that we have a good thing going at UNI. Each November we join more than 270 colleges and universities nationwide to ask students, “How are we doing?” “Are you satisfied?” “Do you feel safe?” “Do you like your residence hall community?” “How is the food?” and more!

Department of Residence staff members Rosie Lang, Rialto dining manager, and Lyn Redington, director of residence life, received 2012 Staff Excellence Awards, given by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa.

Hagemann Hall Wondering Women is a series of programs organized by staff to elevate the social and academic success of second-year women living in Hagemann Hall.
The October program featured the super power of talking to professors. A newsletter and fliers set the stage for the experience of hosting professors from several UNI colleges. More than 25 students met with professors for dinner at the Piazza Dining Center in Redeker Center. Wondering Women were prepared with good questions so they conversation was robust!

Customers of University of Northern Iowa dining centers, restaurants and convenience stores have an opportunity to rate the food, surroundings and service during the annual customer satisfaction survey this week. The benchmarking survey is used to prioritize changes and compare the satisfaction of UNI customers with campus dining customers nationwide, according the Carol Petersen, Director of Dining Services.
