Rider was constructed in 1961. It has eight houses, named after former Iowa governors. Rider accommodates 212 women and 212 men.

New for Fall 2013
Rider Hall, home to students with many different interests and majors, will host the Business Living Learning Community. The Princeton Review has recognized the College of Business Administration as a "Best Business School" for six consecutive years. Students living in this learning community can expect to find a focus on skill development in the areas of management, business administration and entrepreneurship in an environment that focuses on exploring various majors, careers, and opportunities in the business world. First-year students living in this community will be enrolled in at least one academic course with their housemates in Larrabee and Boies houses.
