Roosevelt

Eleanor Roosevelt represents the “politics” category, and is remembered for being the longest-serving First Lady of the U.S.  She was a very outspoken advocate for women in the workplace, civil rights of African-Americans and Japanese Americans, and the rights of WWII refugees.  She was one of the first delegates for the United Nations and oversaw the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
