Eligibility Requirements
University Apartments units are available to students who are married with or without children, single parents with legal custody of their child(ren), domestic partners, single graduate students, and non-traditionals (23 years and older).
A prepayment of $300 is required when an applicant accepts an offered apartment. If a student cancels their application after being assigned an apartment AND accepting the apartment, the $300.00 prepayment will be forfeited.

Availability
The availability of housing depends on the number of residents who vacate. Housing assignments are made on the basis of the date of application. Married students, single parent students and domestic partner students are given first priority for housing.
It is important to keep the University Apartments office informed of your current mailing address, e-mail address and phone number so we can contact you regarding a housing assignment. The phone number is 319-273-6232.
If you should not accept an apartment which is offered to you, and it was one of your desired choices, your application date changes to the date you declined the offer

Telephone/Television
Local telephone service is provided through UNI. Long distance service is available through ACUS. If residents choose another long-distance carrier, an additional phone jack is required. If there is not an additional jack available in your apartment, one can be installed for a minimal fee.
Cable television through the local cable provider is available to all University Apartments residents free of charge.

School-age children living in University Apartments attend either Orchard Hill Elementary School, Peet Junior High, or Cedar Falls High School. Bus transportation is provided. You may obtain additional information by calling the Cedar Falls School Administration Office at 277-8800
