Simplified meal plans debut Fall 2013

Meal plans have been simplified for 2013-14.  Two Community Plans -- featuring unlimited dining access -- will be available to students beginning fall 2013.
Unlimited access to dining centers will expand the use of Piazza and Rialto for community life that extends beyond dining. Piazza and Rialto will be used more frequently for student meetings, studying and socializing. Extended hours will make it easy to stop by at Rialto or Piazza before and after class. Taking smaller portions throughout the day will minimize waste and over-eating. The flexibility of Community Plans adds to the value of the meal plan because access is when students want it.
Community Plans:

Gold: Unlimited access when dining centers are open plus 25 Flex Meals and $250 Dining Dollars per semester
Purple: Unlimited access when dining centers are open plus 25 Flex Meals and $50 Dining Dollars per semester

Block Plans available to sophomores, juniors and seniors include:

Panther Block Plan: 200 meals per semester (includes 25 Flex Meals) and $250 Dining Dollars
Basic Block Plan: 160 meals per semester (includes 25 Flex Meals)

Flex Meals can be used in Piazza and Rialto for ToGo carry-out, a dine-in meal (useful to students with a Panther Block Plan or Basic Block Plan) or guest meals.
On-campus students have the option to add Meal Deals (100, 60 or 20 meals) to the Panther Block Plan or Basic Block Plan to meet their dining requirements.

Additional improvements to dining options for 2012-13
New levels of service for Fall 2012 included longer hours and ToGo carry-out.  Both were well received according to the resident satisfaction survey (November 2012) which reported an all-time high level of satisfaction with dining center hours and also, a high level of overall satisfaction with the value of the meal plan.   Changes for fall 2013 build on that success.

New levels of service for Fall 2013 include adding ToGo carry-out in Rialto and more options for Dining Dollars when the new version of Biscotti’s re-opens in Redeker Center in August. Easy Access (finger image access -- already a success at Rialto) will be coming to Piazza this semester.

Savings for students on the 2012-14 2-Year Advantage
Students who are on the 2012-14 2-Year Advantage plan can use this chart to determine the equivalent level of access for 2013-14 and the savings with the 2-Year Advantage plan.

Options for students living in apartments:
A meal plan of five meals per week and Meal Deals (100, 60 or 20 meals) are available to students living in ROTH, Panther Village and Hillside-Jennings and students living off campus.
