Piazza and Rialto dining centers host local foods special event September 11
Piazza and Rialto dining centers will feature local foods Wednesday, September 11, 5-6:45 p.m., as part of the Reaching for Higher Ground series to promote social awareness of food quality and food security.
The events, beginning Monday, September 8, were featured in the Waterloo Courier.

Why does food matter?
Because we all eat! But more importantly, whether we think about it or not, who eats what, when and where that food comes from is political. While eating is a personal issue, our decisions related to it have global, national and local impact that's worth our consideration.
September 8: Farm Crawl, learn how local farmers grow your food and manage their farms on this self-guided tour.
September 9: Film series: "Food Matters," 7 p.m. Center for Multicultural Education
September 10: Intuitive Eating: Making Peace with Food, presented by Evelyn Tribole, 7-8:30 p.m., Lang Hall Auditorium
September 11: UNI Dining Services will highlight local farmers by offering a variety of items grown locally, including produce from the Panther Plot student garden, 5-6:45 p.m., Rialto and Piazza dining centers
September 12: Panther Plot Harvest Fest, 4-6 p.m., Panther Plot behind the \Biology Research Complex
