Questions and answers about lofts, move-in, room layouts and more
We're getting good questions from students and parents attending orientation sessions. We'll answer them here and add information to the website throughout the summer. If you have a question that is unanswered on your online contract or the Department of Residence website, including the section devoted to fall move-in -- Smooth Move, please contact us: live@uni.edu.
Lofts
What is the "free space" under the provided and rented lofts?
6 feet 9.5 inches x 3 feet floor space for both the provided and rented lofts
Is there a number for Bedloft.com?
866-651-5638
Please use the website when ordering a bedloft; that is the most efficient way to reserve a bedloft.
If I move in early for marching band, student employment, pre-season sports, etc., will I be able to get the rented loft early if they are living in Bender, Dancer, Noehren or Rider?
The lofts are delivered by semi for distribution beginning Thursday, August 22, so they can be picked up then. Mattresses and bed springs will be in each room when the students move in. Two people can manage moving and setting up of the loft. Pieces are connected with bolts secured with wing nuts. No tools are required.
Move-in day
What if I cannot move-in at the times promoted for Bender and Dancer?
Each day after 3 p.m. is open move-in.
Room layouts
Where can I see room layouts?
Your room layout may be viewed by logging into your housing contract. In the Contract Status section, see "Room Reservation Details" and link to "View Floor Plan" at the base of the screen. This will take you to a view of the floorplan for your room. You can zoom in and out to see proximity to lounges, stairs, bathrooms and more. Additional room measurement detail is available on the Residence Halls webpages.
