Your room assignment letter indicates (or confirms for returning students) your roommate and room assignment for fall semester. It also includes your campus phone number, so you can inform friends and family about how to call you at UNI this year. This information is accurate as of the date it was mailed, but it is subject to change if cancellations occur. We will attempt to notify you if any assignment changes occur in your room. You may view your information online. Please note that you will not be able to make any changes from this link.
Your housing and dining contract is for the entire academic year or for two academic years if you have a 2-Year Advantage contract. There are financial penalties for breaking that contract.
If you have not already notified us by indicating special needs on your housing/dining contract please do so immediately. Timliness determines our ability to meet your disability or special health needs. If you feel you have a need for an air conditioner or special accommodation in your room please click here for information of the procedures to follow to obtain approval. For safety reasons, air conditioners will not be installed in Bender and Dancer Halls.
As soon as you get your roommate's name and phone number, give him or her a call. Take some time to get to know one another. Don't jump to conclusions. Look for the best in each other (and you take the lead!). Start talking about what you will be bringing and which of those things you might share (to prevent duplication and waste of space).
Smoking is not allowed on campus. This includes all of the residence halls.
