Test Accommodations in Examination Services

Assistive Testing Services are provided to enrolled students approved for testing accommodations by the University of Northern Iowa Disability Services.  Alternative testing formats, as well as auxiliary aids such as readers, scribes, or assistive technology, are available.  The test service is provided for University course tests and final examinations (not quizzes) to students enrolled in classes that are unable to provide the approved accommodations (i.e. extended time, large print options, reader/recorder, computer testing, etc.).  Course testing accommodations are based on disability documentation as determined by the University of Northern Iowa Student Disability Services.

Exams with accommodation are encouraged to be made and directed by the class instructor. Instructors may utilize their own department rooms to fulfill needed accommodations.  If instructors are unable to make arrangements, Examination Services may be able to administer the exam with one week notice. Testing hours are 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
