Congratulations to winner of the 2007 Psychology Purple and Old Gold Award, Katie Corker !

This prestigious award is given each year to the top graduate in the department.

The 13th Annual CSBS Student Research Conference (April 21, 2007) attracted young researchers from across the Midwest and was a big success. And, for the first time in three years, UNI Psychology students swept the awards for best student research posters! The Outstanding Undergraduate Poster was awarded to Duoc Nguyen - (faculty sponsor Helen Harton) and The Graduate Student Poster Award was awarded to QuiJuan Fang (faculty sponsor Catherine DeSoto) Congratulations!

Congrats to our 2007 Graduating Psychology Majors who graduate with University Honors Katie Corker, Mark Foster, Carmen Krapfl, Stephanie Strouse and Jennifer Younie.

UNI psychology graduate student Jamie Ryan was the top scoring student at this year's MMPI - 2 interpretation competition. The annual MMPI competition is co-sponsored by UNI and Central Michigan University. This year, over 50 students and three universities competed.

UNI Psychologist receives external grant .... Adam Butler has been awarded a grant by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism "College student employment and problem drinking: Harmful and protective factors"

UNI students and their faculty mentors have been busy presenting at national conferences. Psychology students and faculty have presented research conducted here at UNI at the following national conferences in this year: Society for Personality and Social Psychology, Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology, Midwest Psychological Association, American Psychological Society, American Psychology-Law Society, Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy, MMPI-2, MMPI-A Symposium, Society for Personality Assessment, and Society for Research in Child Development. All UNI Psychology graduate students make a contribution to the field by completing scholarly research and then formally defend their findings before being designated as Masters of Psychology.
