CSILE Becomes Knowledge Forum, August 1997
-
Knowledge Forum Information -- 120 Users $2000
-
Knowledge Forum: a second generation CSILE product.
-
Progressive Curriculum & Knowledge Building Uses of Networked Multimedia Resources
-
Students using CSILE, the first generation of Knowledge Forum, outperformed the control groups on both standardized tests and knowledge tests.
-
Knowledge Forum promotes student interaction through referencing, connecting ideas, sharing authorship, and 'building-on' the work of others to advance knowledge.
-
Specially-designed scaffolds support social and cognitive operations that further understanding. Students select different scaffolds to support processes such as reading difficult material, theory-building, and debate.
-
Using Knowledge Forum, students create notes to represent their ideas.
