Selecting the InkJet Color Printer in Room 039
To print on the
HP Color Printer:- Open the Chooser from the Apple Menu.
- Scroll down and select the "DJ800Series(AT)" Driver.
- Select "PLS" from the AppleTalk Zones.
- Select "039-HP870" from the "Select a DeskJet" window.
- Close Chooser window
- Go to the File Menu and do a Page Setup for the application you are using.
- Print the document.
Logging On to 039-server.pls.uni.edu
To begin logon:
- Open the Chooser from the Apple Menu.
- Select the "AppleShare" icon.
- Select "PLS" from the AppleTalk Zones.
- Select "039-Server" from the "Select a file server" window.
- Click on "OK".
Enter Username and Password:- Delete the name of the computer in the "Name" box and type in your username.
- Tab to the "Password" box and type in your password.
- Click on "OK".
Top
Select the desired file:- The "7th Grade" folder is shown "selected" in this view.
- Scroll down until desired folder is visible. The 7th Grade folder is an example of a "group" folder. Only 7th graders have access to this shared folder. Your "individual" folder is stored in the "User" folder on the server. Since "U" is near the end of the alphabet you'll need to scroll to the bottom of the list to find it.
- Click on the desired folder to select it. DO NOT CLICK IN THE BOXES! If there is an "X" in any of the boxes, click on them to deselect them.
Select the "Users"
folder:- Your individual folder is stored in the server's "Users" folder.
- Click on the Users folder to select it.
- Click on "OK."
- Close the "Chooser" window.
Look for the "Users" icon
on the desktop:- Dougle click on the "Users" icon to open the folder.
Logging Off 039-server
To Log Off:
- Drag the "Users" icon to the trash.
- Drag all other icons for folders you have opened to the trash.
