Energy, Power and Transportation Course Description

Energy, Power and Transportation Systems will be structured into three sections: 1. Energy Resources and Conservation, including forms of energy, sources of energy (fossil, solar, nuclear and renewable), and principles of energy conversion; 2. Power Technologies, including mechanical, heat, electrical and fluid; and 3. Transportation Systems, including types of systems (terrestrial, marine, air, and space) and subsystems (propulsion, suspension, guidance, control, support and structural). Each unit will require the completion of reading assignments, problems, and a project. The basic text will be supplemented with WWW sites, and regular quizes and problem assignments will be completed and submitted via a comptuer network.
