Elevations - Level Two
Setting up the the Detailing the Elevation View
1. The front, right side, back and left side views should be included in a set of house plans;
Using the Section Line Tool, place 4 section lines a few feet from the structure to create 4 seperate
elevations
2. The 1/4" = 1'-0 scale is used for plotting the elevations using ArchiCAD.
3. Label each view using 30 point to 50 point Palatino text
Center the label BELOW the completed Elevation view
4. Locate, label and dimension on at at least the ground line, floor and ceiling lines, ridge lines
and chimney heights;
Remember to use Double-Dashed lines and Solid lines where applicable
5. Show the pitch symbol on roof with a different pitch on each elevation;
Each different pitch requires at least one triangle
6. Show and label the type of siding (example): BEVELED CEDAR SIDING
NOTE: Always use realistic color combinations
7. Show and label the type of roofing: ASPHALT SHINGLES;
NOTE: Always use realistic color combinations
8. Show and label windows, doors, trim and frames using information from schedules;
NOTE: Use the BLUE pen to show window and door schedule indicators
9. Show and label brick, stone or stucco on chimneys, walls and columns;
NOTE: Always use realistic color combinations
10. Place title block in lower right corner and letter neatly
NOTE: Fill in Name, Date and Drawing label on each title block
