Making WebQuests
Resources teachers need ...
and how a librarian can help.

You know how to facilitate student questions, BUT... do you know where to find the resources and how to put them into a WebQuest. See also "Finding the Answers" for sources you need to use in WebQuests-including library subscription databases! Be sure to ask your librarian to suggest any resources and databases the library has to offer!

# 1 Standards to be incorporated into WebQuests

# 2 WebQuest Design Process. Steps to select the best topic and design.

Kuhlthau Information Processing Model (may be incorporated into your WebQuest design): Adapted from the research of Carol Kuhlthau, Teaching the Library Research Process, second edition (1994) this model provides suggestions to the practitioner for implementing the library research process. The  most motivating research occurs when students are given choice of a topic and focus, but guidance that their choices must fit within the course content.

The information search process has the following stages:
1) initiating research,

2) selecting a topic,

3) exploring for a focus,

4) forming a focus,

5) collecting information on the focus,

6) presenting the information, and

7) assessing the product and process used.
