Learning Outside of School
WHAT WE DO
We create Making Sense Family Resources, which include online videos and supplementary resources for families. We also create Making Sense Summer Camp Resources and Making Sense After-School Resources for military children. Our experienced team contributes content and pedagogical expertise to the development of all Making Sense Resources in the areas of literacy, mathematics, early learning, and autism spectrum disorder.
WHY WE DO IT
We create Making Sense Family Resources because we believe families are critically important at all stages of children’s education. We strive to empower parents with resources to help them engage in their children’s learning. We especially seek to serve military families who are faced with the unique challenges of frequent relocations and deployments.
WHO WE SERVE
Through the year 2012, the CTLM proudly served United States military families and military community support personnel as they strive to provide a quality education for their children regardless of their locale and circumstance.
WHERE WE'VE BEEN
Student Online Achievement Resources (SOAR) began as an opportunity to extend learning in the homes of military families through a Department of Defense grant. Recently, UNI's contribution to the SOAR project, Making Sense Family Resources, has expanded to reach military youth in new capacities.
