Women's & Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary academic program which places women and gender at the center of study. The program promotes rigorous academic inquiry, personal empowerment, global responsibility, and social equality. Women's & Gender Studies seeks to interpret gender in relation to race, ethnicity, class, age, physical ability, and sexual orientation, with an emphasis on feminist theories and pedagogy. The Women's & Gender Studies program is committed to serve the diverse members of the program, the university, and the community.
