Social Workers & Disaster Response
Presenter: Dr. Susan Kosche Vallem, MSW, Ed.D., LISW
Social Work Department Chair and Professor at Wartburg College
- the role of social workers in a disaster;
- the proper application of crisis intervention skills in a disaster setting; and
- what can be learned from her experience providing disaster mental health services through the American Red Cross.
No fee to attend. Need not be member of NASW to attend. $5 for 1.5 hrs of CEUs for licensed social workers.
Please support our free venue and join us for dinner (at your cost) and social time before the start of the presentation. An accurate headcount is a necessity as we are required to have a buffet set up (rather than off-the-menu ordering) if 25 or more people are in attendance.
RSVP is required to attend this meeting. Contact Deb Flammang-Roper, NE IA Family Practice Center, at (319) 272-2393 or e-mail at dflamman@neimef.org. If you have RSVP'd and find you cannot attend, please give as much advance notice as possible that you must cancel. In the event of inclement weather, please check KWWL for possible cancellation information.
