Welcome to Social Science and History Education. This site was created to help you answer some basic questions about our program. This is the biggest program for either Social Science or History majors in the state of Iowa. There are approximately 110 History Education majors, 130 Social Science Education and 20 Social Science MA majors.

Mr. Chad Christopher oversees the program where he advises and teaches. Chad also works with Methods students during Level III Field experience. Faculty members working with the program are: Dr. Tom Connors (History) and Dr. Kay Weller (Geography).

We have scholarships available for both future and current students. UNI students have the opportunity to student teach in Iowa at one of our regional centers, throughout the United States or overseas. As a program we continue to meet the challenges of the new century in education.
