Project Runway: UNI Dome Edition 2011

At this year's October 8, 2011 UNI homecoming celebration, student's in Dr. Annette Lynch's  Fashion Promotion Class hosted their own midwest version of Project Runway with a special Panther spirit twist. Contestants were given a finite period of time to create a fashion from previously worn varsity football and basketball uniforms, which were kindly donated by the UNI Athletic Department. The contestants could add fabric to the design of their choosing, but were also required to incorporate the entire uniform into their creation. The designs were modeled to the public during UNI's homecoming fair held on campus in the yard outside Lang Hall. Outside judges including alums working for Target, Christopher and Banks, the owner of local the retail store Bride's Corner, and finally Pat Allen, spouse of UNI's president. Prizes were awarded to best individual design, best group design, and best Panther spirit design. Click on the image below for a pictorial slideshow of the event!
