
Northern Iowa Family Services Organization
NIFSO is a student run organization on the University of Northern Iowa campus that promotes education about family life and family diversity, and facilitates networking between past, present, and future Family Services majors/minors and professionals.
Family Services is a profession focused on building strong families through education, intervention, prevention, and enrichment programs. Emphasis areas include children and youth, special needs, gerontology, nonprofit organizational administration, and counseling.
The Family Services major/minor is offered through the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the School of Applied Human Sciences.
Activities include:
- Regular monthly meetings
- Volunteering in the community and on campus
- Sponsoring groups and speakers to campus
- FUN!
How do I become involved?
Membership is open to people from all majors and provides a great way to become involved in the campus and community.
