Research Interests

Professor Dise’s research interests include the Roman Army, Roman Britain, Roman Imperial Administration, and the Ancient Near East. He has produced a widely-viewed video course on the Ancient Near East for The Teaching Company. Professor Dise is the author of Cultural Change and Imperial Administration (1991). He also runs a lively community lecture series on religion, society, and history called “The Canterbury Forum.”

Teaching Interests

Professor Dise teaches a broad array of courses on classical and modern civilizations. His courses include: Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece, Classical Civilization, the Ancient Near East, and the Liberal Arts Core Courses Humanities 1, 2, and 3.
