Funding Opportunities:

The Department has Graduate teaching and research Assistantships available for new students. For the 2015-2016 academic year, graduate salary were $13,112 plus waiver of the out-of-state portion of tuition. Many students are also awarded Graduate Tuition Scholarships that cover the in-state portion of tuition as well. February 1 is the application deadline for full consideration for Fall admission and October 1 for the Spring admission. Late applications may be considered pending availability of funds. Conference Travel Funding:

Graduate students can typically apply for annual conference travel funds ($700-900) and research funds through the UNI Intercollegiate Academic Fund, Graduate College and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. In addition, there are often otehr project-specific sources for student travel.
