CSBS is administrated by the dean with the help of an associate dean, an administrative assistant, and a team of other support personnel to ensure the college operates efficiently and effectively.
The college houses seven departments: The School of Applied Human Sciences; Geography; History; Political Science; Psychology; Social Work; and Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology. We also oversee the Women's and Gender Studies program, the Masters of Public Policy program, the Center for Social and Behavioral Research, and various other centers and units.
Although our programs are varied, each shares a concern for studying some of the most basic yet vital subjects in human behavior: why we behave the way we do, how we interact with one another, and how we interact with our environments. The mission of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is to achieve distinction in undergraduate liberal education and applied fields in those disciplines housed within the college. To this end, the college is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and public service.
