The University of Northern Iowa College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Office, is considering delivering a master’s degree program in Social Science to Iowa middle level and secondary teachers.

Courses will be offered off campus via the Iowa Communication Network (ICN) and online instruction. The program will consist of 30 credit hours and will include coursework and instruction in the areas of:

Approximately six credit hours of research are required, including three hours in a seminar setting and three hours for an independent research project. No thesis is required.

Course delivery

Iowa Communications Network (ICN)
Courses in this program are offered primarily via the ICN. Delivery of ICN programs is limited to the state of Iowa.

WebCT
Courses in this program have an online component utilizing WebCT, a computer conferencing program requiring Internet access and a web browser — no additional software is required. Students may need access to someone who can assist with computer set-up.

UNI campus
Summer sessions in this program may involve some on-campus or central site study.
