Numbering system

Courses are designated by an alpha subject field and 4-digit course number. The alpha subject field refers to the department or area of the course; the number refers to the specific course. Courses 0000-2999 are primarily designed for freshman and sophomore students. Courses 3000-6999 are primarily designed for junior, senior, and graduate students. Only those 5000- to 6999-level courses provide graduate-level credit.
