NSE Application Process
Students who have attended an informational meeting (see upcoming dates to the right) may pick up an application at the meeting, at the NSE Office or via the appropriate download link below. Applications are only accepted from students who have attended an informational meeting.

Your application and approximately $150 non-refundable application fee are due February 15, 2010. Upon submitting your application, you will schedule a meeting with the NSE Coordinator to discuss exchange details. Placements for the upcoming academic year are made in March.
Qualifications
To qualify for participation in NSE, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Maintain a UNI and a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better at the time of application and exchange
- Have completed at least 30 UNI hours at the time of exchange
- Post-baccalaureate students are not eligible for exchange
- Retain full-time status as a UNI student at both the time of application and in the semester prior to exchange
- Be considered in good standing as defined by UNI
Academic Credit and Grades
Working with your academic advisor, you will select courses and submit a Preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation to the UNI Admissions/ Enrollment Services Office which will determine the transferability of work to be completed at the host campus. Once approved, credit earned while on exchange will be shown as transfer credit on your UNI transcript. Grades will transfer.
Cost
UNI is a Plan B school, allowing you to pay UNI tuition while attending another B or A/B school. Tuition must be paid in full prior to leaving on exchange. Room, board and special fees are assessed at the host campus. Transportation and other expenses are additional costs and must be taken into consideration. Financial aid needs are assessed and awarded by UNI.

Placement
All National Student Exchange Coordinators will meet at a conference in March to negotiate placements. Withdrawal from the program after placement will be allowed only in rare instances and requires the permission of the NSE Coordinator.
