iowa communications network (ICN)

How does it work?

ICN classrooms are end-to-end fiber optic digital transmission sites connected to regional ICN classrooms all over Iowa. The ICN provides full-color, full-motion, interactive video transmission; error-free data transport; and sharp, crisp voice communications. Most classrooms are of sufficient size to comfortably seat at least 20 students. Delivery is limited to the state of Iowa.

Faculty members who teach via the ICN are provided individual assistance and training sessions to become familiar with the technology. In addition, UNI Continuing Education staffs each ICN session with a technician who assists faculty members while they teach.

To schedule an ICN session

  1. Review the ICN Usage Guidelines and ICN Instructor Guidelines.
  2. Complete and submit the ICN reservation request form.
