Course Format
Enrollment in GIS is open and offers a convenient way to earn college credit - enroll at any time, set your own schedule and work at your own pace. Courses are available in print- and web-based formats and can be completed entirely at a distance.

2008-09 Tuition & Fees
Tuition is $180 per credit hour, plus a $13 non-refundable enrollment fee. Web courses also have an additional technology fee per course. No additional tuition is charged to out-of-state or graduate students.

Time Guidelines
You may take up to nine months to complete a course. If necessary, a one-time 90-day extension, requested in writing, may be granted for a $15 fee.

Exams
You may arrange to take exams in your local community under the supervision of an approved proctor. Public libraries and higher education testing centers are two common choices. If you live in the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area, we recommend you schedule your exams at the GIS office on the University of Northern Iowa campus.
