Strategies for Effective Online Teaching Workshop

This workshop will review and discuss 10 principles of effective online teaching, best practices, and expectations for an online instructor. It will also provide an overview of the different roles a faculty member uses to effectively teach an online class. Additionally, it will outline specific tasks the faculty member will complete before class begins, during the first week of class, throughout the course, and during the last week of class.

Workshop Learning Objectives:

Upon the completion of this workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss best practices and expectations of an online instructor
  2. Describe the four different roles of an effective online instructor
  3. State the tasks to perform before class begins
  4. Describe the tasks to perform during the first week of class
  5. Explain the tasks to perform throughout the course
