about MyCourses
UNI Continuing and Distance Education, in cooperation with ITS Educational Technology, provides comprehensive instructional support for faculty members who wish to develop distance learning courses. Belle Cowden, Instructional Developer, works individually with faculty members using MyCourses, a computer conferencing program developed by Blackboard Inc. No prior experience with MyCourses or specialized knowledge of the web required.
Our responsibilities
- Identify courseware options and provide recommendations
- Obtain MyCourses accounts for each course
- Design MyCourses environment
- Convert course content to web-format and upload to MyCourses
- Train faculty members to use instructional features of MyCourses
- Update and maintain courseware within MyCourses environment
- Provide ongoing technical and support as the course progresses
Instructor responsibilities
- Review operational procedures for web-based courses
- Consult with Continuing and Distance Education to share course objectives
- Provide course content electronically so Continuing and Distance Education can place it into the MyCourses program
- Facilitate instruction
