ARTICLE I
Section 1.
The name of this group shall be the Association for Chinese
Communication Studies (hereafter ACCS).
Section 2.
The basic purpose of the Association is to promote Chinese communication
studies.

ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP
Section 1.
The Association is a non-profit organization and is financed by
membership dues.
Section 2.
General membership in this association is open to any person who is
interested in promoting the Association's purpose.
Section 3.
The full membership of the Association shall be those persons who attend
meetings of the Association at the annual NCA (formerly SCA) conventions
and those individuals who submit a written request to be a member of the
Association.
Section 4.
The categories of membership and membership dues shall be determined by
the executive committee. A student member pays half the regular
membership dues. The membership dues shall be used for the expense of
the Association's activities.

ARTICLE III: MEETINGS
An annual business
meeting shall be held at the time and place of the annual convention of
NCA (formerly SCA). Additional meetings may be scheduled by the
executive committee.

ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS
Section 1.
The officers of the Association shall be president, vice president,
secretary/treasurer, and newsletter editor.
Section 2.
The President shall serve for one year, preside at business meetings of
the Association, be responsible for archiving records about the
Association, maintain liaison with other associations, and shall
discharge responsibilities normally adhering to the office.
Section 3.
The Vice-President will serve a one year term, then succeed to the
office of President. This officer shall, in cooperation with the
officers and appropriate committees, plan the Association activities,
and shall discharge responsibilities normally adhering to the office.
Section 4.
The Secretary/Treasurer shall serve two years, prepare minutes of the
business meetings, be responsible for the financial management and
membership records, other internal communications among the members, and
other duties customary for the office.
Section 5.
The Newsletter Editor shall serve for one year, be responsible for the
Association's Newsletter, and other duties customary for the office.
Section 6.
In the case of vacancy, the progression of Vice-President would apply in
filling a vacancy in the position for president. For Vice-President,
Secretary/Treasurer, and Newsletter Editor, the person who received the
second highest number of votes in the election would fill the vacated
position.
Section 7.
In the case an officer is unable to fulfill his/her responsibility for
whatever reason the remaining members of the executive committee shall
appoint a replacement until such time as a replacement can be duly
elected.
