UNI SAVE (Students Advocating for Voices and Equality) is a student-led group that works to create conversations that explore social justice here at UNI and in the Cedar Valley. Our group seeks a more equitable environment, inclusive of all people, through activism and advocacy. We use dialogue, workshopping, storytelling, and performance to facilitate community engagement in social change. In addition to our performances and workshops we strive to pair with other organizations on campus and in the community to create a safer environment for all.
Here are some of the different projects we are working on:
MVP Student Leadership Summit
Tuesday, October 11th
Hosted by UNI's MVP, this leadership summit engages with middle school and high school student across Iowa! The topic presented by SAVE students will address how to be a leader and advocate for yourself and for others.
- Iowa Pride Network Summit
Saturday, October 22nd
SAVE students will travel to Grinnell College to perform scenes, followed by hot seating and discussion about being an advocate for yourself and for others.
