Three Comm Studies Grad Students Win Awards at CHAS Humanities Research Symposium

Communication Studies graduate students Alexandra Chase (2nd place), Anthony Roth (3rd place) and Evan Schares (4th place) all won awards at the  College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences Humanities Research Symposium on Friday, April 11.

The keynote was presented by Dr. Erik Doxtader, who also provided oral reviews of each presentation. Dr. Doxtader is a Professor or Rhetoric at the University of South Carolina and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation in Cape Town. His lecture, “Messianic Hopes at the Moral Carnival: The Question of the Humanities, for Now,” explored the role of the humanities and humanities research in our times.
