1. Completion of 9 credits of speech communication or directly related courses for students at 2-year institutions and 18 credits of speech communication or directly related courses for students at 4-year institutions.
2. A GPA of 3.25 for speech communication and related courses; and a 3.0 GPA overall.
3. Those who qualify should submit their application and a copy of their transcripts to their speech professors.
4. Speech professors will verify the coursework and grade points and then submit the names to the ICA Executive Secretary (bjschmidt@dmacc.edu) and the ICA Webmaster (joyce.chen@uni.edu).
5. Students who transfer from one institution to another may have their credits in speech at the first institution counted toward a recognition at the second institution as long as those credits in speech transfer and the grades for those courses are verified by an unofficial computerized transcript submitted to speech communication faculty.
