About the Program

This program is designed for students who:

  1. Are currently certified at the secondary level and seek an advanced degree in Speech Communication.
  2. Plan to make a career of college teaching. 
  3. Plan to pursue a Ph.D. in Communication Education.

Courses are selected to provide a varied background in speech communication with the opportunity to couple that with the study of pedagogy.  Areas of specialization are determined by the student's interests.

Non-Thesis Option

Required: 33 hours of graduate level courses with at least 12 hours in courses numbered 200 or above.
