Student life at the University of Northern Iowa is all about choices - where you live, what you study, how you join in and enjoy life within the campus community.
Living at UNI
With ten residence halls, seven coed, two female-only and one apartment-style complex, we have a variety of options to suit your needs. UNI also has two award-winning dining centers, a food court in Maucker Union, a convenience store/deli, and food carts conveniently located across campus. UNI has a new state of the art Student Health Center which also houses the university's Counseling Center.
Activities and Recreation
With hundreds of student organizations and other activities to choose from, there's always something to do. With more than 170 clubs and organizations to choose from, you can find activities that match your interests.
If you like keeping active, you can swim, work out or climb the 40-foot indoor climbing wall at the Wellness/Recreation Center. The WRC also offers some great outdoor recreation activities, including trips around the U.S. to go climbing or whitewater rafting.
UNI's 18 Athletic Teams compete at the NCAA Division I level. Football competes in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision. Students get in free to all Panther games.
These 18 teams include Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field (indoor and outdoor) and Volleyball for Women; and Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Track & Field (indoor and outdoor) and Wrestin for men.
In addition to participating in varsity sports at UNI, students may also join a variety of intramural teams and sports clubs.
Taking Care of Business
