Carline is a retired professor from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where she taught educational methods classes and supervised student teachers. She has more than 25 years of diversified teaching experience, having taught at the elementary level in Massachusetts, secondary level in Illinois and college in Iowa, including Simpson College and Iowa State University. Her areas of expertise include curriculum and instructional technology, teacher education and reading. Carline completed training in teacher education at UNI in 1965, later earning a bachelor’s degree from Framingham State College in Massachusetts, a master’s degree from National-Louis University in Illinois and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instructional technology from Iowa State University. She has served with numerous community organizations and has received several honors and awards. Carline and her husband, Thomas, are longtime supporters of UNI.
