Why did you choose UNI?

I chose UNI because it was a smaller campus compared to the other universities in Iowa. It was also far enough away from home where I couldn't go home every weekend but close enough that I could go if I needed to. I love the class sizes because you can actually get to know your professors on a more personal level.

Why should students thinking about going into teaching come to UNI?

UNI is the Teacher Education School. The professors who are apart of the education program are very passionate and dedicated to their craft and with helping us learn and understand how to be great teachers as well.

How has your academic experience been? Tell us about any great classes or professors that inspired or challenged you.

When I first arrived on campus I was nervous. I had never really been away from home but that didn't last long. I participated in the Jump Start program, which was really helpful. I was able to get a better feel of the campus before classes started and meet new people who I would later become good friends with. I really enjoyed Dr Susan Hill's Religion of the World class. She was so creative with how she discussed religion and you understood her lectures. She made me think about becoming a religion major.

Years from now, what will you remember the most about UNI?

I will remember all the friendships I have made, and the triumphs and downfalls experiences.  Most importantly, I will remember the advisors who took the time to actually care. They make sure I am on top of things and when I am in need they are there with a solution. It doesn't matter if it's personal or academic they listen.
