The mission of the Special Education Statewide Liaison Initiative:

• to address the area of teacher shortage in Iowa and the United States.
• to increase the number of fully certified special education teachers in Iowa.
• to enable conditionally certified teachers to obtain special education certification through supervision in their own classrooms.
