NOTE: (1) The thesis plan requires 6 hours of 220:299 Research in Special Education and oral comprehensive examinations.
The non-thesis plan requires an acceptable Departmental research paper and written comprehensive exams.
(2) A post-baccalaureate student without a Masterâs degree who is seeking special education certification(s) MUST also be
classified as an MAE student at UNI in Special Education or some other COE field. See your advisor or a
Special Education faculty member for further information on this requirement.
