Re:        Request for Nominations for COE Committee Positions

We will hold elections this spring to fill positions on the COE committees listed below. These committee assignments will begin in the fall of 2001. Please secure permission from all nominees before submitting their names.

COE SENATE—Acts for the college faculty on all matters within the jurisdiction of the college faculty, except as may be otherwise assigned by the faculty. Additional functions are stated in section 1237 of the COE Rules and Regulations.

COE FACULTY AWARDS COMMITTEE—Provides for the annual public recognition of outstanding performance by one College of Education faculty member in each of three areas of performance: teaching, scholarship, professional service.

Incumbent Pat Sitlington (Special Education) is eligible for re-election

COE COMMITTEE ON CURRICULUM—Reviews formal curricular proposals made by the respective department. Also, serves as an initiator of needed action, as a sounding board for departments’ ideas, as a reactor to specific concerns, or in any other way the departments wish to use its professional wisdom.
