Majors within the College of Education (COE) help prepare students for exciting and rewarding careers in education and recreation. The COE works with UNI's Teacher Education program to prepare students to become elementary, middle and high school teachers as well. Here’s what the COE has to offer.
- Classes with fewer students. Smaller classes mean you’ll really get to know your professors and classmates, which makes it easier to ask questions, get involved and stand out.
- Faculty who are experts in their field. Our faculty members have received local, state, national and international awards and recognition for their work. Their experience and expertise, which they bring to the classroom, gives you an education that’s second to none.
- A commitment to diversity. We embrace all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age or ability – and teach our students to do the same. In our ever-changing world, this commitment becomes more and more important as you work with diverse populations.
- Hands-on experience. One of the best ways to learn something is to dig right in and do it. That’s why you’ll put your skills to work in a classroom or the community during your sophomore year. And when it’s time to find a job or apply to graduate school, these all-important field experiences and internships will really make you stand out.
